MOLD & MYCOTOXIN ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
The Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment Program is designed for patients where environmental exposure may be relevant to ongoing or unexplained health concerns. The program combines targeted mycotoxin testing with clinical review to support informed next steps.
Testing is used as one input within a broader health assessment and is not treated as a standalone diagnosis. The goal is clarity – determining whether mold exposure warrants further consideration or whether symptoms are more likely explained by other factors.
Who this program is for
Who this program is for
Mycotoxin Testing
This program may be considered when patients experience persistent symptoms and have a complex history that suggests possible environmental exposure.
Situations commonly discussed include:
- Ongoing fatigue or reduced energy
- Brain fog or cognitive strain
- Depression and changes in mood
- Nervous system dysregulation
- Weight gain
- Chronic sinus or respiratory irritation
- Immune and hormone-related concerns
- Chronic viral and bacterial infections
- History of water damage, damp buildings, or mold exposure
Symptoms alone do not indicate mold toxicity. Program suitability is determined clinically.
What’s included in the program
The Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment Program may include:
- Clinical intake and history review
- Liver and Kidney function blood work
- Urine-based mycotoxin testing (panel selected based on clinical context)
- Nasal swab for mold, MARCONS, fungus, bacteria and bio-film
- Genetic testing for HLA DR/HQ for biotoxin susceptibility genes
SNPS and detoxification markers - Review of results in relation to symptoms and exposure history
- Discussion of findings and appropriate next steps
Testing is performed through established specialty laboratories using validated methods.
How the program is used
The program helps determine whether mycotoxin markers are present, if findings align with symptoms and exposure history, and whether further investigation or action is warranted. The program does not assume causation and does not replace environmental assessment or medical evaluation.
Important considerations
Mycotoxin levels can fluctuate and may reflect recent exposure, results are influenced by metabolism and timing, testing can produce false positives or negatives, and not all symptoms attributed to mold are necessarily caused by mold exposure; for these reasons, this program is used selectively and thoughtfully.

Program Steps
- Complete Health History
- Bloodwork, mycotoxin testing, genetic testing and other functional testing as required
- Differential Diagnosis- mold illness often presents with other underlying immune dysregulation, such as chronic viral and bacterial infections, digestive concerns, hormonal imbalances
- Diagnosis is made with strong consideration of other systems affected such as immune system, digestive system, and stress on the adrenal system, hormone imbalances, and nervous system support
- Tailored plan created: mold and mycotoxin detoxification using herbal, nutraceuticals and prescriptions as required, specialty IV nutrient therapy.
- 3, 6 and 12-month plans and follow-ups with the physician.
next steps
Recovering from Environmental Exposure
If mold exposure or persistent, unexplained symptoms are a concern, the next step is a clinical consultation. This allows for a detailed review of your history, symptom pattern, and potential environmental factors to determine whether mycotoxin assessment is appropriate.
