Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Testosterone levels gradually decline with age and may contribute to changes in energy, mood, strength, libido, body composition, and cognitive clarity.

When clinically confirmed, Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) may be considered as part of a structured and monitored medical program for both men and women.

Comprehensive Hormone Assessment

Comprehensive Hormone Assessment

At Luminary Health, TRT is delivered through comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, and ongoing monitoring to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Care begins with a detailed intake and full health history, including review of symptoms, goals, and overall health status.

Assessment

Assessment includes evaluation of

  • Energy, sleep, and stress patterns
  • Libido and sexual health
  • Exercise and recovery
  • Digestion and metabolic health
  • Mood and cognitive performance

Laboratory Testing
Comprehensive blood work is required prior to treatment. Testing evaluates total and free testosterone levels along with related markers that influence hormonal balance and metabolic health. Functional testing may be added when clinically appropriate.

Treatment decisions are based on both laboratory findings and clinical presentation.

Treatment Planning

If testosterone deficiency is confirmed, the patient is referred to the clinic’s in-house medical doctor and/or nurse practitioner. Therapy options may include intramuscular injections, transdermal creams, or hormone pellet procedures. The method selected depends on clinical findings, lifestyle factors, and patient preference.

Monitoring and Follow-Up

Ongoing monitoring is a core component of the program. Blood work is repeated approximately every four months to assess treatment response and ensure safety. Testing evaluates testosterone and estradiol levels, hematocrit and red blood cell count (erythrocytosis risk), liver function, metabolic markers, and any potential side effects such as acne or hair changes.

Lab review appointments occur every four months to assess progress and adjust dosing as needed. Annual comprehensive blood work and physician evaluations are also required to maintain safe and appropriate treatment.

Integrated

Integrated Health Optimization

The TRT program includes broader health optimization strategies led by naturopathic physicians.

Recommendations may include personalized nutrition guidance, metabolic support, targeted nutraceutical supplementation, and lifestyle modifications addressing sleep, stress, and exercise.

Testosterone therapy is not treated as a stand-alone intervention but as one component of a structured health plan.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone

Low testosterone may present with:

  • Decreased muscle mass and strength
  • Increased abdominal body fat

Diagnosis is confirmed through clinical assessment and laboratory testing.
